October 8, 2009 - P3dO 2.2.5 released

In short here are the new features brought up by 2.2.5:
Daz Carrara format support (thumbnails & Textures list)
Daz Hexagon format support (Textures list)
Rsr2Png auto Poser RSR image converter
PoserPython update for Poser 8
DPX (Digital Picture Exchange) / CIN (Cineon Image) high resolution image

Most of the following features are for P3dO pro.
However we are offering the Carrara & DPX / CIN thumbnails.
As well PoserPython is free too.

We are proud to say this is again a unique, exclusive feature by P3dO (*).
That is:
- Thumbnails for CAR & CBR files
- List of Textures (path checking, ability to delete/zip the whole scene or edit any file in the scene without the burden to navigate to it).
P3dO Scene Manager is an incredible time saver, already reading more than 38 3D file formats and now Daz Carrara !
Also note that P3dO is reading Carrara's HDRI.

Hexagon is another Daz format I'm very glad to add to P3dO:
- List of Textures (path checking, ability to delete/zip the whole scene or edit any file in the scene without the burden to navigate to it).
Unfortunately HXN files don't have thumbnails.

As Poser used to do Rsr2Png auto will automatically convert your Poser RSR to PNG, while you navigate your libraries. Companion to our award winning Rsr2Png plugin, Rsr2Png auto is a smooth converter you will barely notice.
Have a look in the Options dialog to activate it.
Contrarily to Rsr2Png, Rsr2Png auto doesn't delete any source picture. It behaves exactly like Poser used to do.

PoserPython plugin has been updated for Poser 8. With PoserPython Open any Poser files from P3dO into Poser: Directly from P3dO to Poser (without the need of Prpc). For any Poser: from Poser Pro Pack to Poser 8.

New High resolution Picture formats added: DPX (Digital Picture Exchange) / CIN (Cineon Image).
This makes 2 with the already available HDR format.

As usual this version contains bug fixes, options and improvments, among which one is worth mentioning:
A P3dO menu can be added to the Shell context menu (set it in File Format Association dialog).

I would especially like to thank Marcelo Teixeira & Faba One for their contribution to the Carrara parser and also in suggesting improvements.
And Peter M. for his contribution to the Hexagon parser.

September 25, 2009 - P3dO for Carrara update

2.2.5 pro beta is now available.
P3dO is the first and only 3D file manager to offer Daz Carrara models support. That is:
- Thumbnails

Those who can't wait to get the free version for Carrara may freely download P3dO pro. An unregistered P3dO pro is similar to the free version, just hit cancel when the key is requested.

September 19, 2009 - 2.2.5 beta next week

Next update to come, version 2.2.5, will have Carrara support.
Support of Carrara CAR and CBR files in P3dO is a long time request of P3dO users and we are glad to offer this feature.
P3dO pro will show Carrara thumbnails and Textures paths (the free version will just show thumbnails). We also do read Carrara Runtimes thus the support is quite similar to what we already do for Poser.
As per P3dO standards this implies: showing directory structure, shortcuts to texture Runtimes, thumbnail view of all textures in a scene, ability to clean the whole scene without effort (this is called Scene Manager in P3dO).

And we do have plans for even more Carrara stuff !

As usual this update introduce other features: DPX (Digital Picture Exchange) & CIN (Cineon Image) formats added, and some Poser 8 oriented improvements.

August 6, 2009 - P3dO & Poser 8

PoserPython has been updated to reflect changes in new Poser release: Poser 8.
PoserPython has also been updated to deal with Poser Pro Pack (read help file for setup).
Get the updated Poser Plugins pack from the download page or Download directly from here.

And now a word about work in Progress on 2.2.5.

I've added resizing to Image2Image plugin, and options to AwkPlugin.
2 new file formats have also been added: Digital Picture Exchange - Cineon Image (.DPX,.CIN), and Google SketchUp (.SKP).
I'm looking for a beta tester for DPX file format. Please contact me if you are interested.

I will study Poser 8 to see if ever a P3dO update would bring something interesting, in which case a new release will be available in September. Else P3dO 2.2.5 is scheduled in October.
